Update on Kayla

First, I have to say, “Thank you.” To all of you. All who’ve prayed, sent notes, messages, cards, emails, etc. It has been an extremely difficult year with loss and heartache, surgery, and lots of hospital visits– BUT our God is in control. And I’m so thankful for that.

Second, most of you know that we are pretty private. With all the publicity we’ve had over the years, we tend to keep a lot to ourselves. And that’s not always a good thing. So many of you have reached out and let us know you were praying — thank you SO much for that.

Third, thank you for being patient with me. :)

Now for the update:

Kayla’s health has gone downhill over the past year and a half. There’s no reasoning behind it. No answers. Just lots of questions. We are praising the Lord and so very thankful that it …

Drumroll Please…

I know I’ve said it before, but 2013 isn’t going down in the hall of fame of great years for Kim. But it still has been an incredible year… (I’ll get to that in a minute.)

In fact, there are many days where I am convinced that if I just had minions, everything would run smoothly and I would be able to accomplish everything I set out to do that day. I know, I know… keep laughing. It reminds me of Evan Almighty when Steve Carell (Evan) is talking to Morgan Freeman (God) and says that building an ark is not really part of his plans and Morgan Freeman laughs hysterically at him… “Your plans…”

Ah yes, what I had planned for 2013 was not at all what happened.

But we’re not going to recap the craziness that has been 2013, oh no. We don’t want to go there :)
