The Write Nook – Announcement
We have some exciting news here at The Write Nook!
Each and every day, The Write Nook site is expanding. Whoot-whoot!
Now, we are honored to announce the addition of our newest member. Please welcome Darcie Gudger!
Introducing Darcie J. Gudger!
Darcie J. Gudger lives in the windy state of Wyoming with her husband, son, Psycho Dog, kittens, and blob (who passes as a cat… sort of). When not writing or striving to keep things from blowing away, Darcie enjoys reading, walking Psycho Dog, disc golf, singing, knitting and stalking Wyoming’s wildlife.
In past lives, Darcie earned her B.A. in psychology from Houghton College and her Masters of Education from the University of Colorado, Denver. She spent 4 years in the classroom as a high school special education teacher. For 15 years, Darcie instructed several award-winning scholastic color guard teams from Colorado. She was also on staff with WGI Open class finalist team Malachi Independent Winter Guard.
Now that she’s in Wyoming, she plans to write more books and help other writers better their craft and realize their dreams.
Another important thing: Darcie really hates writing about herself in the 3rd person. It’s just weird. Very weird.
High school sophomore, Kisrie Kelley, has always been a misfit. Her nemesis, Wendy Wetz, who’s bullied her since elementary school won’t let her forget that fact. Kisrie longs to fit in and feel normal, but is that possible when color guard and photography are her only talents? Her Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup addiction and a pestering prodigy littler sister who thinks she’s a bush baby doesn’t help. Some days Kisrie contemplates moving to a different planet.
Wendy Wetz has troubles and secrets of her own. Her beauty pageant dreams are her only hope of escaping poverty and her mother’s questionable lifestyle. Everything spins out of control. Cyberbullying takes everything to a whole new level when Kisrie overhears Wendy plotting to spread vicious rumors about her English-teacher uncle. Kisrie must decide whether to snitch and risk Wendy’s wrath, or shut up and watch her uncle’s life crumble.
Only the truth can set them all free, but will Kisrie be too late?
Hilarious, heartbreaking, and honest, Spin is a novel you won’t soon forget.
